Joyful Singing, Healing Sound

A one day workshop in West London

Sunday 8th September 2024

11am 'till 4pm

Event Description

Morning Session: A World of Harmony

We will start the day with an inspiring mix of harmony songs from across the globe. This session is designed to uplift and energize, and will include:

  • African Songs: Immerse yourself in the rhythmic and vibrant melodies that characterize African musical traditions.

  • Gospel: Feel the power and soulfulness of Gospel music, known for its deeply emotive and uplifting qualities.

  • Folk: Connect with the storytelling and simplicity of Folk music, drawing on the rich tapestry of traditional sounds.

  • Japanese: Sakura - A traditional Japanese folk song celebrating the cherry blossom season, which can be beautifully harmonized to capture the beauty of the blossoms.

This musical journey is tailored to engage and inspire, fostering a sense of unity and joy through the collective experience of singing. No prior singing experience is needed, making it a welcoming environment for all to discover the joy of vocal expression.

Afternoon Session: Sound Bath Relaxation

The afternoon invites you to a deeply relaxing sound bath experience, designed to transport you to a state of inner peace and calm. You'll be encouraged to make yourself comfortable with yoga mats, blankets, and cushions, creating the perfect setting for relaxation. The sound bath will include:

  • Tibetan Singing Bowls: Experience the harmonic vibrations and soothing sounds of Tibetan singing bowls.

  • Pure Vocal Tones: Be enveloped in the clear and calming tones of the human voice, adding a personal dimension to the experience.

  • Rainstick, Wind Gong, Shanti Chimes: These traditional instruments contribute to a rich auditory landscape, each adding their unique sound to create a serene atmosphere.

  • Blissful Mantras: Engage with the repetitive and meditative quality of mantras, designed to calm the mind and soothe the spirit.

Additionally, Sarah will share some of her heart-opening songs from her album "Pure Love", adding a personal and touching element to the session.

Open to Everyone

The day retreat emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or experience with singing, can participate and benefit from the day's activities.

This workshop promises a balanced and holistic experience, combining the joy of singing with the tranquility of a sound bath, all within a supportive and inclusive environment. It's an opportunity to explore musical diversity, experience deep relaxation, and open your heart through song, making it a truly enriching experience for all who attend.
